Common issues and solutions for steel ring sludge suction pipes (三)

Section Three:

Leakage or Disconnection at Joints

Issue Phenomenon: Leakage of water and mud at pipe connections (flanges, clamps, quick couplings).

Main Causes:

1. Seal ring issues: Aging, wear, twisting during installation, or improper installation.

2. Loose connection bolts: Flange connection bolts become loose due to vibration and pressure fluctuations.

3. Uneven connection surface or impurities: Mud, debris on flange sealing surfaces or O-ring grooves, leading to poor sealing.

4. Misoperation: Pipeline subjected to lateral pulling force, causing gaps at the connection.

Solutions:

1. Re-tighten: Check and re-tighten flange bolts (ensure even tightening in diagonal sequence).

2. Clean and replace seal rings: After disassembly, thoroughly clean the sealing surface, replace with new, correctly sized seal rings, and apply silicone grease for installation and sealing.

3. Check alignment: Ensure two pipes maintain coaxiality, avoid forced alignment.

Preventive Measures:

Regularly check tightness: Include checking the tightness of connection bolts in daily maintenance procedures.

Carry spare seal rings: Keep commonly used size seal rings handy for replacement.

Standardize installation: Ensure connection surfaces are clean before installation, and seal rings are installed correctly.
